So I had these grand plans to take all sorts of pictures today and didn't. Epic fail.
We had an awesome day! I could have slept in all morning if I wanted to, but I decided to make the most of my day. I got up at 8:30 after sleeping horribly. Needless to say, I am exhausted. Coffee didn't even help. It was worth it though.
I got up, got dressed, and Mike and I wrangled the kiddos to get ready for breakfast. We headed to bouldin creek coffee house, our regular Sunday breakfast spot. I got my usual hazelnut latte and today's special. Holy pajamas it was delicious. It was a scallion corn cake topped with scrambled tofu, chipotle pecan pesto, raw kale, and served with a side of their beans. It sounds kind of crazy, but I would totally order it again if they had it.
After breakfast, we went to Little Stacy Park. When we got there it was empty! I was pretty shocked. We had a great time playing and eventually ran into one of Henry's school friends and a neighbor friend! Then we went to Target and "each" got a prize. I say "each" because Mike's and my prizes were really for the kids. Zelda got a Hello Kitty compact with a mirror and pop out brush from the one spot, Henry got a 68 cent jump rope, Mike got a clearance Tron motorcycle racing track thing that is really fun, and I got a sprinkler ball thing for the back yard. The cats got some kitty litter.
After Target we headed home. The kids needed to get ready for nap and I needed to get ready for a meeting with a client. When I got home from the meeting, Zelda was still napping and Mike and Henry were playing with the motorcycle thing. It was super fun.
When Z woke up, we got ready to head up north for our dinner reservations at Steeping Room. A client of mine had given me a gift card to there after her birth! How freaking sweet! It is pretty hilarious that everyone knows how much I love it. I even made a comment today that I could bathe in their coconut green tea, so long as I had a straw.
We got there a smidge early, so I bought some new underpants from Victoria's Secret to pass the time. Some of you may know that I accidentally bough GIGANTIC underpants a few weeks ago. So gigantic they go well past my belly button. I swear. Last time I buy underwear in a plastic package. Trust.
Anyways, while we were in there the sales lady asked if she could help. I told her I was looking for just the plain cotton underpants. Henry exclaimed that I shouldn't get cotton underpants EVER. I asked him why, and he told me that cotton balls fall apart too easy and that they wouldn't make good underpants. Thanks buddy!
Once that was taken care of, we had dinner. It was great. I just love the Steeping Room.
The evening was capped off nicely by two screaming kids the whole way home. Can't win em' all! :)
Sorry I haven't blogged much lately. I can't even begin to explain how busy I have been. I promise I will keep you updated as soon as I have checked a few things off the to-do list.
